Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle, great-granddaughter of the creator of Grand Marnier, is the force behind Viña Lapostolle, with a winery and hotel nestled in the hills overlooking Chile’s spectacular Apalta Vineyards in the Colchagua Valley.

This unique setting, combining a respect for nature with cutting-edge design, was the site of our special luncheon paired with Lapostolle wines after our winery tour and wine tasting with the winemaker. A team of chefs prepared a special menu for each wine, using organic vegetables from the garden and top-quality seasonal products.

  1. That’s such beautiful scenery to sit besides while eating! I have to agree with the above comment, the dessert looks gorgeous!

While I’m here, I may as well as say that I’ve just started a food blog recently, just writing wee things about dining out in places in Glasgow. Things have been tough for me over the last few years but food is something that has always brought me comfort (not necessarily a good thing). Would love it if you were interested and wanted to have a look or give me a follow, it would mean a lot.

    • Thanks for the comment — yes, the dessert tasted as good as the description and photograph. This was a wonderful place and the team there were most hospitable, friendly and informative. Overall, we were really impressed by the overall high quality of the food and wines in Chile — under appreciated by most of us until a local visit.

  2. The platings of so many dishes that you share are spectacular. Amazing to see in these countries so far away from the US. Keep them coming. So enjoyable! 🙂

    • Thanks for the note. We were very impressed with our four days in the Chilean wine lands south of Santiago, around Santa Cruz. There are so many more wineries in that area that we didn’t visit! Definitely an area worth exploring and revisiting…
I have enjoyed your blog and look forward to reading more of your posts.

      • Colchagua was voted best wine region in the world to visit a few years ago. I guess there’s a reason for it. Tx for the feedback about Social Vignerons 🙂 keep up with the great work too 🙂
