For more than a decade, Casa Lita has been specializing in the popular pinchos — essentially Spanish tapas (on bread) with skewers — and they receive rave reviews for the best pinchos in Santander, Spain. The restaurant’s chef, Joseba Guijaro, who has earned a Michelin star during his long career, carefully selects the fresh, high quality products for the kitchen. The wonderful local vibe adds to an authentic dining experience.
We choose to sit for our luncheon at a table outside on Paseo Pereda, a main street parallel to, and overlooking, the Bay of Santander. We went inside several times and pointed out the bartender the pinchos we were interested in eating and they were brought outside by a waiter to our table (#14) along with fresh potato chips and Amstel beers. When finished, the waiter had counted up the number of pinchos and beers and presented us with the bill. Everything we had was excellent, with the foie gras pincho at the end the “pièce de resistance”!
